A local tanning business in Swansboro, North Carolina is refusing to close its doors after Governor Roy Cooper ordered that all non-essential businesses close.

Coastal Tan located at 714 West Corbett Ave. Suite 4 in Swansboro, North Carolina said they were not closing their business until they had proof that they were required to.

Local residents posted articles and the Governor’s executive order making it clear that the tanning salon was not an essential business.

On Saturday, the business took to their Facebook page and told the public that their UV light inside the business will help curve the virus as well as other medical conditions.

Coastal Tan also told the public to call Governor Roy Cooper and let him know that they are an essential business.

On Sunday, Coastal Tan made another post telling the public that they were not closing and will be open for business.

It seems like Coastal Tan follows an unsafe business practice and NO ONE should support a business that would refer to a pandemic as “coronavirus crap” first of all let alone choose to make money over the health and safety of their customers and potential customers.
